Position Overview:We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Department for Business and Economics to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator to lead our Business and Economics department, shaping the curriculum and driving academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Business and Economics department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, in line with the school's curriculum.
  • Manage and mentor departmental staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive teaching environment.
  • Monitor student progress and use data-driven strategies to support and improve achievement.
  • Take responsibility for the development and implementation of the department's strategic plan.
  • Ensure the department meets school objectives and remains compliant with educational standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the senior leadership team to promote the subject and support whole-school initiatives.
  • Participate in school events, contribute to extracurricular activities, and support the wider school community.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Extensive subject knowledge in Business and Economics, with the ability to teach up to Key Stage 5.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role or as a second-in-command within a department is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to inspire both staff and students.
  • Proven track record of raising academic standards and delivering successful outcomes.
