Salary: £28000 - £32000/annum

Purpose of the role

As a key member of the area sales team proactively contribute to the budgeted volume, revenue, market share and business profit targets. The key requirements of the role include:

Managing and developing new and existing customers in targeted areas.

Providing a link and support to the internal / external sales functions, the wider commercial team and the customer services centre.

Contributing and achieving in our business goal to grow sales, improve quality, reduce complaints, 'get it right first time' and become our customer's supplier of choice.

Key accountabilities

Work with your territory sales managers to maximise sales opportunities through volume, revenue and product mix

Be responsible for proactively generating new business in your area through prospecting; making use of reports on closed, lapsed and new accounts, as well as using tools such as Barbour ABI and LinkedIn to identify appropriate call lists.

Manage area accounts using appropriate sales tools (5 minute planners, CMPs etc.), making sure that all customer interactions are recorded via Arvensis and/or CRM

Ensure end-to-end account management, including managing queries & complaints for relevant accounts

Follow up, in a timely manner, all quotes added to the system ensuring a record of jobs won and lost is kept; and that lost or finished job quotes are archived

Alongside TSM, Bid Team and any other relevant departments complete administration for any local Government bids or major contracts

Work with the cash sales team to ensure that all opportunities are qualified and priced appropriately

Be responsible for reports such as GZ and ancillary pricing

Support your TSM/FSM on work for special projects as required

Attend and contribute to area team meetings as required

Financial & Non-Financial accountabilities

One of the geographical areas covering the UK.

Proactively generate, progress and develop new sales leads / customers

Responsible for a specific list of customers and or key targeted contracts.

Logistics and Order teams

Operational Managers and Supervisors

Technical Team

Shared service centre departments as necessary

Compliance

Quote target achievement

Sharing market information between Heidelberg Materials Product lines

Education/Qualification

Good level of education (GCSE's / A level / Diploma)

Working understanding of standard software packages

In addition to these functions employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required.
