Introduction to the role

The Lloyd's Market Association (LMA) has a newly created interim vacancy for a Delegated Authority (DA) Analyst, sitting within the Market Operations team, reporting to the Manager, Delegated Authority. This is a unique opportunity to be involved in the delivery of a groundbreaking initiative designed to completely transform the Lloyd's and London markets ('the market'). Delegated Authority Re-Imagined (DARE) is an LMA initiative launched in 2021 to completely reimagine Delegated Authority (DA) in the Lloyd's and London markets by digitising the entire DA process, from contract creation to claims settlement. The aim is to ensure greater transparency, efficiency and scalability. The development of a Computable Binding Authority Agreement (CBAA) is the first step in achieving the DARE vision of a digital DA marketplace.The design of a CBBA is a creative process, offering numerous design options to achieve project objectives. In this role, you will have the opportunity to share your views and contribute to the final design. This complex project involves many different workstreams, and you will have opportunity to lead some of the smaller ones while coordinating with a range of market SMEs to ensure they meet their deliverables.This role offers a mix of hands-on execution and the organisation of others to achieve their objectives. You will support the creation of informative presentations for the market and assist in analysing and integrating their feedback. Being involved in this process will allow you to become one of the very few people who are expert in understanding the structure and content of the CBAA upon its release. This role will involve attending and taking notes at various in-person market meetings, gaining valuable insight into a range of initiatives outside of the CBAA. It offers excellent networking opportunities and exposure to a huge number of senior DA stakeholders across the market, potentially opening doors for future opportunities. This position is well-suited to an organised, efficient and analytical individual who is eager to fully immerse themselves in the broad range of tasks and initiatives the team are involved with.

Job purpose

The Delegated Authority (DA) Analyst will provide efficient administrative support to the LMA's DA market groups and forums, contribute to the delivery of the LMA's DARE vision to create data-driven processes, practices and systems, play a key role in enabling the market to realise the benefits of a fully digital approach, and coordinate all aspects of DA market engagement.

Key accountabilities
  • Provide efficient administrative support to the LMA's DA team and its market groups and forums by:- Organising/scheduling and attending both in-person and virtual market meetings - Coordinating and producing agendas, including liaising with members for their input- Capturing an appropriate record of key discussion points and actions- Overseeing the appropriate resolution and closure of actions- Coordinating responses to member queries
  • Support the LMA's DA team and its market groups and forums in delivering the Computable Binding Authority Agreement (CBAA), which could include:- Applying digital styling guidelines to contracts produced by the LMA's Delegated Authority Wordings Group - Analysing Lloyd's licensing rules and territorial permissions for DA, and reformatting them into a digitally readable table- Analysing existing DA contracts and suggesting ways to streamline and simplify them- Producing detailed reports, including executive summaries, on various deliverables, issues and related topics- Creating comprehensive reference tables in Airtable and/or Excel to be used in the application of automation rules built into existing tools- Analysing data from existing DA contracts and presenting findings in a clear and concise manner - Co-ordinating the creation of all definitions and guidance to be used within the CBAA- Progressing and completing ongoing work to ensure everything is digitally prepared and ready
  • Coordinate the creation and circulation of the LMA's DA monthly market newsletter
  • Propose and implement new ways to improve engagement with DA stakeholders
  • Coordinate and, where appropriate, deliver effective development and maintenance of the Delegated Authority Re-imagined (DARE) website - LMA Dare | Home
  • Review current DA content on the LMA website and subsequently draft new, streamlined content
  • Coordinate the planning and creation of materials, as well as the execution of DA market events and training sessions
  • Support the London Market Group (LMG) Data Council to devise and maintain a Core Data Record (CDR) for DA contracts and declarations, co-ordinating market involvement and feedback
  • Communicate confidently and effectively to LMA members, and other key stakeholders, ensuring that the LMA's profile and credibility is reinforced
  • Assist with the promotion of the LMA, its brand, and the key activities that it is leading on or supporting

Education and qualifications

The role requires individuals of graduate or A-level calibre.General skills / qualities

  • Strong ability to examine and interpret complex datasets; confident user of Excel; excellent attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, and proficient in using Outlook calendar
  • Inquisitive nature, with strong problem-solving skills and a logical approach
  • Comfortable engaging with and influencing senior stakeholders and the external market, while building new relationships
  • Self-motivated, with a deep desire to learn and grow
  • Ability to summarise large amounts of information to extract key points
  • Excellent at recognising patterns and grouping information based on common attributes
