An outstanding, independent primary school in Islington is seeking a warm, experienced, and proactive KS1 Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Year 1 and Year 2 from May 2025. About the Role - KS1 Teaching Assistant

As a KS1 Teaching Assistant, you will work across Key Stage 1, offering both 1:1 and group support within Year 1 and Year 2. Your role will include supporting class teachers with lesson delivery, helping to manage classroom behaviour, and providing tailored support to children with additional needs.

Responsibilities - KS1 Teaching Assistant

Support pupils in Year 1 and Year 2 during lessons and activities
Work 1:1 with children who require additional support, including those with SEND
Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Assist with lesson preparation, resources, and classroom organisation
Foster strong relationships with students, staff, and families
Contribute to intervention groups and phonics sessions where neededThe Ideal Candidate - KS1 Teaching Assistant

This school is looking for a KS1 Teaching Assistant who is reliable, enthusiastic, and confident supporting children in a classroom setting. You must be adaptable and ready to work as part of a collaborative, passionate team.

To be successful, you must have:

Previous experience working in a school environment
Experience supporting children within Key Stage 1 (Year 1 or Year 2 preferred)
Some SEND experience (e.g., Autism, speech and language needs, or SEMH)
A caring and patient approach
