MacKenzie King are delighted to be recruiting a Financial Accounting and Compliance Manager to work for a reputable organisation offering a vital service in Essex. As Finance and Compliance Manager you will report into the Assistant Director of Finance and be responsible for ensuring there is effective compliance throughout the organisation. 

Duties and responsibilities will include:

- Line management responsibility for two managers, who in turn, look after teams of people. You will have accountability for the staff and accounting output as well as coaching and supporting team members where necessary.

- Implement best practise processes and checks to ensure numbers and balances are up to date and accurate.

- Managing the relationship with the Internal Auditors. This will include co-ordinating the annual program of work within the organisation and ensuring a smooth delivery of the audit program.

- Playing a lead role in the annual statutory audit process and preparation of the annual financial statements. To prepare, organise, monitor and review work in respect of technical working papers for the closure of accounts and to ensure accuracy and compliance with all accounting regulations and Codes of Practice.

- Manage and oversee the organisations Capital Program reporting. This will include ensuring sufficient practices are in place to justify capital projects and ensuring Capital policies are reviewed on a timely basis.

- Treasury Management of the service, monitoring cash flow and maximising the investment of surplus funds.

- To take and lead on new projects, in line with changes in regulations.

You will be a professionally qualified Accountant with a proven knowledge of financial reporting and understanding of financial procedures and regulations. You will enjoy managing people and developing and maintaining effective relationships internally with senior leadership teams and external stakeholders. This is a pivotal role to the running of an efficient service.
