About the Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide vital support to children with diverse needs, helping them to access the curriculum and reach their full potential. You will work closely with the class teacher and the school's SENCo to implement tailored strategies and interventions, ensuring that every child feels valued, supported, and able to thrive in their learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to children with SEN, including those with autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and other learning needs.
  • Assist in developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and learning strategies tailored to the needs of each child.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, encouraging children to develop their social, emotional, and academic skills.
  • Monitor and record the progress of students, providing regular feedback to the class teacher and SENCo.
  • Support children during lessons, playtimes, and transitions, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being.
About You:
  • Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role within a primary school setting is desirable.
  • A passion for working with children with additional needs and a commitment to helping them achieve their potential.
  • Strong communication skills, patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN (desirable but not essential).
