This is a fast-growing company operating in UK & Ireland and Europe, with exciting growth and expansion plans. The main offices are in Tewkesbury and Wokingham with most of the workforce being mobile or remote.

Purpose of the Role

The Resource Planning & Project Support Manager will be responsible for coordinating, planning and managing the Control System engineering team resource across all Major Projects regions in the UK, Europe and the Middle East. In addition, the role also requires providing remote support relating to project documentation and document control.

The Resource Planning & Project Support Manager is responsible to ensure the labour is planned and coordinated efficiently across multiple customer and regional locations, ensuring the right skillset and task is resourced and undertaken efficiently and correctly. Sharing responsibility with the Project Managers and Contract Managers to assist with ensuring the projects are delivered on time and leaving a satisfied customer.

Core hours are 8.45am - 5.15pm, Monday - Friday (Full Time)

Duties and responsibilities in this position are:

Be responsible for the planning performance and efficiencies, co-ordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of ABEC projects in line with resource planning allocation and delivery.

Build relationships with the Contract Managers and Project Managers, taking ownership of the regional planning for all Major Projects.

Provide support to Project Managers and clients in terms of production, collation and issuing of all relevant project documentation in line but not limited to O&M's, Commissioning Record documents, As Built Drawings and Client Training Registers.

Support health and safety management on all managed projects.

Regularly monitor, review, and report on the progress of all projects in terms of planning and engineer resource allocation.

Ensure standard documents are continually used and maintained. These include but are not restricted to programme of works, progress schedules and manloaders. Utilise and interact with Project managers and Contract Managers where required.

Liaise with the Engineering Manager to ensure sufficient notice for all engineering and commissioning requirements.

Ensure factory acceptance activities, commissioning activities, snagging, annual leave and training activities are planned and communicated with results being documented and issued in a timely manner using the correct documents and processes.

Results required for this position:

1. Labour variance and productive time for engineering resource above 90%.

2. Engineer satisfaction and allocation to projects that suits skillset and capability with tasks.

3. Ownership of the process related to all live and upcoming projects being resourced correctly, with the required number of engineers.

4. Efficient planning, minimising overhead costs for the business related to unnecessary travel and/or cancelled and/or changed travel plans.

5. Input into the future recruitment requirements for Major Projects engineering resource - forecasting and identifying skills gaps and necessary future hires suited to new and upcoming projects.

Knowledge, skills and abilities needed for this position:

* Knowledge and background in the BMS and/or engineering industry.

* Previous experience of planning and managing the coordination of large remote engineering teams.

* Strong interpersonal skills.

* Strong communication and client facing skills.

* Excellent PC skills. Fluent in the use of Microsoft Project, Excel and Word.

* A strong background and working knowledge of building services and BMS.

* Ability to programme and organise to the demands of projects.

Experience which is needed for this position:

* Experience of remote team management in the construction and/or engineering industry.

* Experience of project coordination and project manager support relating to projects .

* Experience of coordinating a project team delivering a portfolio of multiple projects.

* Demonstrable experience in managing successful projects from a delivery, handover and sign-off point of view relating to project documentation.

* Experience of health and safety in a construction environment.

Other/special requirements for this position:

Essential:

* 5+ years of experience working within the construction and/or engineering industry.

* H&S accreditation or IOSH equivalent.

* Proficient use of MS Project and Excel.

* Excellent written and spoken English
