About the school:

Join our dynamic 4-form entry primary school located in the heart of Newham, London, where we are proud to serve a diverse and vibrant community of students aged 3-11. We admit up to 120 children in each year group, the majority of whom come from the local area, but we also welcome students from further afield to ensure inclusivity for those unable to attend their local schools.

With a rich and proud history, our school has recently undergone an exciting redesign and rebuild, now offering state-of-the-art facilities that enhance both academic and creative learning. Our specialised facilities for art, technology, music, and ICT inspire innovation, while our four large playgrounds—complete with grass and garden areas—provide the perfect spaces for relaxation and play.

Our dedicated SEN department is a shining star within the school, offering exceptional support for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). If you are passionate about working with ASD students, you will feel right at home in this nurturing environment, surrounded by experienced professionals and robust resources to ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive.

About the role:

We are looking for a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to specialise in supporting children with ASD across Key Stages 1 and 2. As part of our SEN team, you will be assisting students with autism in both one-on-one and small group settings, helping them navigate their daily learning and social challenges.

Your role will involve working closely with teachers and other professionals to create individualised education plans (IEPs) and deliver tailored support that meets each child's specific needs. While experience in ASD support is required, qualifications are beneficial but not essential, as we provide ongoing training and development opportunities.

Application Requirements:

• Prior experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
• A nurturing and patient approach to helping children with special educational needs.
• Ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders.
• A passion for helping children achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct support to ASD students in both classroom and breakout sessions.
• Work collaboratively with teachers to implement IEPs and differentiated learning strategies.
• Assist with personal development and social interaction activities.
• Monitor and report on student progress, adapting support plans as needed.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment for all students.

Perks and Benefits:

At our school, you will be joining a close-knit and supportive team in a role that truly makes a difference. We offer a competitive day rate, opportunities for professional development, and a welcoming environment where you can grow and learn alongside like-minded colleagues. You'll also have access to a range of facilities designed to support both students and staff, including a newly refurbished SEN department, well-maintained outdoor spaces, and creative learning suites. This is a wonderful opportunity to become part of a school that is committed to inclusion, excellence, and the success of every child.
