Duties & Responsibilities

* Establish our REVIT capability within the existing design team.

* Develop our REVIT templates and families for our work as lead engineer.

* Support our existing technician team as they develop and hone their REVIT capabilities.

* Review and negotiate project BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) to ensure that we understand and can comply with contractual

* Lead the structural and geotechnical design for key projects, with responsibility for planning, delivery, financial performance and stakeholder management.

* Set the overall design strategy for structure and foundations, delivering holistic integrated design solutions.

* Ensure our designs are optimised for construction, sustainability and health and safety.

* Ensure the completeness, checking and quality of our deliverables.

* Support the development of technical and digital capabilities of the team, including sustainability.

* Support knowledge sharing across the wider business, delivering a virtuous circle of learning and improvement.

Requirements

Qualifications:

* BEng (Hons) degree in civil, structural, or geotechnical engineering.

* CITB Construction Skills Certification Scheme Card.

Experience:

* Typically, a minimum of 5 years relevant post graduate experience.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

Understanding and Practical Application of Engineering:

* Comprehensive understanding of basic design tools & methods.

* Comprehensive understanding of fundamental engineering principles, physics and statics.

* Comprehensive understanding of actions and load paths.

* Good working knowledge of statutory legislation, the suite of Eurocodes and other approved industry body guidance and established best practice.

* Good working knowledge of design in all mainstream materials (steel / concrete & timber).

* Good working knowledge of proprietary solutions and suppliers.

* Good working knowledge of the main temporary works methods & solutions.

* Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and documentation.

Management and Leadership:

* Plan the work and resources needed to enable effective implementation of engineering tasks and projects.

* Manage the planning and organisation of tasks and resources.

* Execute tasks and projects in accordance with the plan adapting to change as required.

Commercial Ability:

* Manage, prepare and control costs/budgets of engineering tasks or projects.

* Use sound knowledge of main commercial frameworks and have an appreciation of other commercial arrangements.

* Demonstrate sound judgement on contractual and commercial issues.
