My client is a well established company based in Tilbury, Essex, specializing in the design, manufacture, installation, sales, repair, and examination of lifting, securing, and height safety equipment. With an expanding order book, we are committed to delivering innovative and reliable solutions to our clients in the construction, marine, and port industries.

Job Summary
My client are seeking an CAD Design & Project Technician to join our team. In this role, you will create preliminary concept designs and develop them into detailed manufacturing and construction drawings. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of unique projects, moving beyond standard construction steelwork to deliver bespoke solutions for our clients.

We will also consider recent graduates in mechanical or structural engineering at a lower starting wage.

Key Responsibilities
CAD Detailing: Produce 2D and 3D CAD drawings for construction, marine, and industrial applications.
Concept Drawings: Create initial design concepts for tenders and client presentations.
Material Take-Offs: Prepare material lists and take-offs for pricing and procurement.
Specification & Ordering: Specify and order materials required for projects.
Manufacturing Drawings: Develop detailed workshop manufacturing drawings.
CNC Cutting: Create profile drawings for CNC cutting processes.
Problem-Solving: Work with workshop supervisors to identify and resolve issues in the manufacturing process.
Scheduling: Collaborate with the operations manager to program and prioritize the manufacturing schedule.
Client Liaison: Communicate with clients to address production queries and ensure their requirements are met.
Document Control: Manage manufacturing documents and records in line with EN1090 and ISO9001 quality management systems.
Audit Preparation: Prepare for ISO 9001, ISO 45001, EN1090, and SSIP audits.
Qualifications
Experience: Proven experience in structural steel manufacturing, with a strong background in CAD design.
Skills: Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software. Familiarity with CNC cutting processes is a plus.
Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the construction, marine, or port industries. Knowledge of ISO Quality Management Systems is beneficial.
Site Experience: Ability to conduct site surveys and work collaboratively with engineers and clients.
Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to produce clear and detailed drawings and reports.
