Teaching Assistant - Autism Resourced Provision (ARP)

We are working with a fantastic mainstream primary school based in Tower Hamlets who are looking for Teaching Assistants to work in their Autism Resourced Provision (ARP) for September 2024 starts. These roles are perfect for recent graduates with a keen interest in SEN and Autism (ASD) and any candidates with prior experience of supporting young people with Autism (ASD) and SEN. This does not have to be school based experience necessarily, but this is advantageous.

What will you do as a Teaching Assistant within the Autism Resourced Provision?

• Promote and support social communication, social interactions and sensory processing for pupils with Autism
• Support students on a 1-2-1 basis inside and outside of the classroom
• Provide pupils with the visual support they need to help them understand instructions and therefore complete them
• Giving pupils a clear understanding of what is expected of them, then giving them time to independently complete these
• Regular staff training to brainstorm ideas to promote independence

CANDIDATE DETAILS - Teaching Assistant - Autism Resourced Provision

• Experience supporting young people with Autism (ASD) within a school/nursery/education setting - Ideal
• A recent graduate with a keen interest in Autism and SEN - Ideal
• A genuine passion for supporting young people with Autism (ASD) / SEN - Essential
• Right to work in the UK and have an Enhanced DBS (or willing to get a DBS) - Essential
• Hardworking, resilient and positive
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and bonds with children and staff alike

SCHOOL / ROLE DETAILS - Teaching Assistant - Autism Resourced Provision

• A mainstream Tower Hamlets primary school - Graded 'Outstanding' by Ofsted
• Full time, full academic year, September 2024 start dates (Term Time Only) - Potential to go onto a permanent contract next academic year
• £105 per day - Paid weekly
• Modern facilities throughout and a large outdoor play area
• Soft play area and sensory room for students with Autism (ASD) / SEN
