The Malloy Aeronautics Team:
Malloy Aeronautics Limited specializes in the development of heavy lift unmanned air vehicles (UAVs) for both civilian and military uses. Located in Berkshire, our operations are notable for their focus on in-house design and manufacturing. This vertical integration means we control the production of most aircraft components on-site, enhancing our ability to innovate and maintain high standards across all stages of development.
About The Role:
- This role is for a professional technician to make, assemble and test battery packs for our unmanned vehicles.
- This role involves a diverse range of wiring and building tasks for a talented, flexible, and passionate technician with experience in electronics, and electrical build in manufacturing. This person must embrace the challenge of producing outstanding results on his/her own without the need for constant supervision.
- The ideal candidate will have a few years of experience in soldering cables, building harnesses, crimping connectors, and general hands-on skills. We expect applicants to have proven dexterity, to be quick and to enjoy building complex systems.
- Experience with battery systems is not required for this role but is desired.
Ability to hold Security Clearance - 5 years residence in the UK
What you’ll being doing:
- Battery assembly, such as soldering (PCB or wires), crimping and general avionics wiring/assembly.
- Make and install wiring looms, circuit boards and other electronic hardware.
- Assemble battery frames, and other mechanical hardware.
- Use power tools with precision and in a safe manner.
- Report on Quality Control issues and managing documentation.
- Test and follow quality assurance procedures.
- Able to multitask and work in a high pressure and task-oriented environment.
Essential Skills and Experiences:
- Must be able to demonstrate hands on experience in previous roles as an assembly technician, or engineering.
- Must be able to solder and understand basic electrical wiring.
- Must be adaptable and open to change to work in a fast-paced growing business.
- Fluent with Excel, Word.
- Strong focus on quality and customer pride.
Desired Skills and Experiences:
- Previous experience doing wiring/assembly in the aerospace industry will be of additional interest.
- Previous experience working with Lithium-Ion cells.
- Previous experience working with a spot-welding machine.
