Job Title: Freelance Site Engineer

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM

About the Role:

Fairmead is recruiting on behalf of a valued client for an experienced Site Engineer to work on a steel frame industrial unit in Haverhill.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for setting out and ensuring the precise execution of structural elements. Proficiency with robotic total stations is essential, as is having access to your own equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Setting Out: Provide accurate setting out for steel frame installation, groundworks, and associated structural components using robotic total stations.

* Surveying: Conduct site surveys, ensuring measurements are precise and align with project specifications.

* Quality Assurance: Ensure all work complies with design drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

* Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of site activities, progress, and any deviations or adjustments.

* Coordination: Collaborate closely with the Site Manager and other project stakeholders to ensure smooth workflow and alignment with project timelines.

* Health & Safety Compliance: Implement and adhere to site-specific health and safety protocols at all times.

* Problem-Solving: Identify and address any technical or logistical challenges as they arise on-site.

Requirements:

* Proven experience in setting out for steel frame structures and industrial units.

* Own robotic total station equipment (mandatory).

* Strong knowledge of construction processes, especially steel frame and industrial build projects.

* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

* Excellent communication and coordination skills.

* Proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
