The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a Senior Compliance Technologist to join our team here at Walker & Son. You will provide structure and guidance to the site compliance team, with a strong drive to improve site systems whilst ensuring retailer requirements are met. Management of systems such as internal audits, risk assessments and customer gap analysis; communication and close out of subsequent actions from routine surveillance with relevant departments.

• A keen eye for detail, focused on BRCGS and retailer compliance, with a drive to achieve high standards.
• A good communicator, who can convey the facts in an accurate and concise manner.
• Excellent organisational skills, an individual who can prioritise workload with the ability to adapt under unexpected or ad hoc situations.
• An individual who is comfortable talking to customers and auditors in a professional manner, able to conduct meetings either in person or via Microsoft Teams and develop actions plans to drive improvement.
• Ability to work under pressure, or to deadlines.
• Problem solving skills with the ability to gather, analyse and present data.
• A team player, actively engaging with the wider site teams to develop and embed site standards.

The Ideal Candidate

• Understanding of general traceability and mass balance/reconciliation requirements.
• Knowledge of risk assessment process.
• Knowledge of Microsoft programs such as word, excel, PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of BRCGS standard and retailer standards such as Tesco Food Standard
• Intermediate / Level 3 Food Hygiene.
• Experience using retailer portals such as Oracle and M&S Connect
• Internal auditor certified.
• Intermediate / Level 3 HACCP.
