The Role

My client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Engineer with an electrical bias to join our dynamic Engineering team. The ideal candidate will identify, prepare, schedule, coordinate, and deliver assigned technical and engineering projects on time, in full, and on budget. Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) is desirable for this role, as the successful candidate will be involved in automation and control systems throughout project lifecycles.

This position requires a strong foundation in engineering principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

* Identify, prepare, schedule, coordinate, and deliver assigned technical and engineering projects on time, in full.

* Ensure effective health and safety management throughout the project lifecycle.

* Implement project governance to ensure effective management of key stakeholders, key resources, achievement of project deliverables from concept to handover.

* Ensure all legal and regulatory requirements are understood and met from concept to handover.

* Experience working with external contractors including management.

* Excellent analytical and judgment skills, with the ability to develop budgets and track expenditures across all cost areas of projects.

* Proven ability to conduct feasibility studies and identify opportunities for return-seeking projects.

* Implement and deliver project administrative products including, but not limited to, project charters, budget trackers, scope of work, GANTT charts, issue logs, commissioning schedules, etc.

* LV Electrical Duty Holder.

Essential Knowledge & Skills:

* 18th Edition Cert

* EHS management competency and control of contractor competency.

* Project management & Process improvement.

* Strong technical understanding of electrical systems and PLC integration.

* HNC/HND or Engineering Degree is preferred but will consider time served and experience.

* Experience working as part of a team on capex initiatives in an FMCG background.

* Experience with PLC-based automation and control systems integration, troubleshooting, and optimization is desirable.
