Invision Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Estimator with main contracting experience to join and lead the estimating and pre-construction team based in the East London / Essex area.

Responsibilities:

To produce priced tenders that are accurate, clearly detailed, competitive and returned within deadlines through co-operation with the pre-construction team.

Maintain good relationships with prospective clients and professionals and most importantly Alliance Leisure, to promote further tender invitations and provide clearly identified price build-ups to the Contract team.

The desired outcome being that the Company will achieve sufficient new work to enable continued growth in accordance with the Business Plan.

You will report directly to the Business Manager, In the absence of the Business Manager or designated Senior Manager, the individual would report to the relevant company director.

Skills and Experience

* Have a good technical knowledge, experience of various construction methods, construction buildability, programming and the impact these have on pricing tenders

* Experience as a main contractor, of general contacting

* Good working knowledge of construction methodology and outputs

* When required, the ability to use previous project experience and knowledge, to build up rates from first principles, rather than using a schedule of rates

* Able to evaluate project programme requirements for bids

* Recognise when to recommend alternative products and construction methods to bring competitive advantage when tendering

* Read drawings, specifications, accurate takes offs, prepare bills of quantities and sub-contractor management during the bidding period

* Experienced in the use of estimating and take off software

* Good understanding of all forms of construction contracts, JCT, NEC, D&B, etc.

Qualifications/IT Skills Requirements

* Preferably a degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying or similar

* Proficient in all Microsoft packages, excel, word, outlook etc

* Ideally can use MS Project for tender programming

* Has experience of take-off and estimating software package/s.
