We have an exciting opportunity for an R&D Lead to spearhead multiple concurrent R&D projects with a distinctive opportunity with growth potential for the right candidate. The business specialises in manufacturing bespoke products for a global customer base across the Aerospace, Defence, and Engineering sectors.

Our R&D projects involve collaborating across various industry sectors, leading universities and research institutes offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced R&D lead to engage in cutting-edge technology development.

R&D Project Manager/Lead Responsibilities and Requirements:

* A degree in a relevant scientific or engineering field.

* Candidate seeking a long-term position in a growing Commercial/R&D environment with potential for departmental advancement.

* Lead projects involving various technologies.

* Manage project timelines, budgets, technical and project risks.

* Provide technical leadership to partners and academic research activities.

* Organise in-house R&D testing.

* Mix of office-based work and hands-on workshop/laboratory assignments.

* Represent the business at conferences, meetings, and international exhibitions.

* Oversee Computational Modelling (CFD, FEA) tasks performed in-house and by partners.

* Provide support to other business functions (design, sales, and purchasing) on specialised subjects when needed.

* Strong interpersonal skills to maintain close working relationships with customers, suppliers, subcontractors and funding bodies.

* Ability to work consistently under pressure and handle the uncertainty inherent in R&D activities, with flexibility to adapt as tasks evolve.

* Self-motivated with a drive for excellence in all undertaken activities.

* This position is based on site and may involve occasional UK travel and short international trips to support our global customer base. Remote work is not feasible due to the nature of the role.
