The Opportunity

Long Term Futures is seeking a confident and resilient KS2 Teaching Assistant to support a child on a one-to-one basis in a primary school in Barking (IG11). The pupil finds school challenging and requires a patient, proactive, and experienced teaching assistant who can provide strong behaviour support and encourage engagement in learning.

This is a long-term role with the potential to go permanent, ideal for a dedicated professional looking to make a meaningful impact.

Key Responsibilities

Provide one-to-one support for a KS2 pupil with behavioural needs
Implement effective behaviour management strategies to encourage positive engagement
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support learning and emotional well-being
Build a trusting relationship with the pupil to ensure consistency and progress
Adapt learning activities to meet the child's individual needs

Who We Are Looking For

Experience working with children with behavioural needs, preferably within a school setting
Strong behaviour management skills with a patient, supportive approach
A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
