Salary: £40000 - £50000/annum plus commission

Due to expansion, we now looking for a new Business Development Manager who will be responsible for the successful acquisition of high-quality new business accounts using a consultative selling approach. You will have proven experience working as a business development manager within the engineering sector to identify new business opportunities in order to generate revenue, improve profitability and help the business grow.

This individual needs to be highly motivated, a self-starter able to identify and develop new business from multiple sources.

Responsibilities as a business development manager, you'll need to:

* research and identify new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services - or new ways of reaching existing markets

* seek out the appropriate contact in an organisation

* generate leads and cold call prospective customers

* meet with customers/clients face-to-face or over the phone

* foster and develop relationships with customers, clients, partners, sponsors and donors so that you can generate repeat business as well as finding new opportunities

* understand the needs of your customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these

* think strategically - seeing the bigger picture and setting aims and objectives in order to develop and improve the business and reach new audiences

* work strategically - carrying out necessary planning in order to implement operational changes

* lead on and support bid-writing for new grants and contracts where appropriate

* train members of your team, arranging external training where appropriate

* seek ways of improving the way the business operates

* keep abreast of trends and changes in the business world.

The candidate: You will have experience within business development within Aerospace, Defence, Automotive, Building Services, Construction, Engineering or Rail industry and want to work in a 360-degree recruitment consultant role, leveraging off the company's excellent reputation and using your own network. You will be happy working in a small, friendly recruitment team which will give you every opportunity to further your career and progress to a Senior Recruitment Consultant/Team Leader role.
