A well-established Architectural & General Metalwork Fabricator based in the Cambridgeshire area just west of Huntingdon are looking for a Quantity Surveyor. The company that the Quantity Surveyor will be working for manufacture Steel Structures for the Construction Industry working on a range of retail, commercial, residential, infrastructure and utility projects.

The Quantity Surveyor will be working closely alongside a team of Project Managers and will work independently on a portfolio of steelwork projects. The Quantity Surveyor will play a client facing role, support the growth of the project management team, and deliver projects from feasibility through to completion.

Quantity Surveyor Position Overview

• Assessing applications from subcontractors
• Preparing/ sorting tender pack information
• Receiving and comparing quotes for future projects
• Assessing payment notices
• Ensure cost control is maintained on project basis throughout procurement, delivery and design, through to final account stage.
• Monitor Project Costs
• Pricing variation
• Collating Bills of Quantities
• Collate information for Final Accounts
• Attend financial meetings

Quantity Surveyor Position Requirements

• Degree or HNC within a Quantity Surveying or Civil / Structural Engineering Discipline
• Working knowledge of JCT and NEC forms of contract
• Demonstrable knowledge and experience of Commercial Management works on site
• Experience working in a commercial role
• Understanding of steelwork preferred
• Excellent IT skills - especially Excel and Google Sheets
• Effective communication skills
• A full UK driving licence

Quantity Surveyor Position Remuneration

• Salary Dependant on experience Circa £50K
• 21 days holiday + BH
• Other benefits to be discussed
• Monday - Friday, 42.5hrs a week - full time in the office
