About Us:Rotherham Council is committed to enhancing the quality of life for our residents through innovative and effective care solutions. They are currently seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team for a 6-month project focusing on single-handed care and reviewing care packages.

Role Overview:As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in assessing and reviewing care packages for individuals requiring single-handed care. You will work collaboratively with social care colleagues to ensure safe and effective support is provided, enabling individuals to live as independently as possible.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of individuals' care needs, focusing on single-handed care solutions.
  • Review and update care packages, ensuring they meet individual requirements and safety standards.
  • Utilize your knowledge of manual handling and specialist equipment to provide expert guidance and recommendations.
  • Perform risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with social care teams to ensure a cohesive approach to care delivery.
  • Provide training and support to care staff on best practices for manual handling and the use of specialist equipment.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience as an Occupational Therapist, particularly in assessing and implementing care packages.
  • Strong knowledge of manual handling techniques and specialist equipment.
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments and developing safe care plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with colleagues and clients.
  • Ability to adapt to flexible working patterns to accommodate care calls, including early mornings.
