Position: Art, Design & Technology Technician
Location: Ashford, Surrey
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time - Term time only, 36 weeks per year

Are you passionate about supporting creativity and innovation in education? T4S Education is proud to be working in partnership with a prestigious independent school based in Ashford, Surrey, on the recruitment of a skilled Art, Design & Technology Technician. The successful candidate will have proven practical experience in an educational or workshop setting, working with resistant materials. This position might suit somebody who has retired from industry and is looking to contribute their skills and knowledge to a school environment! This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a driven school environment that looks after their staff.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide practical and technical support in the Art, Design & Technology department.

* Assist students and staff with the use of workshop machinery and equipment.

* Ensure the safe operation of all tools and machinery, adhering to Health & Safety regulations.

* Maintain and organize workshop resources, materials, and equipment.

* Support students in working with a variety of resistant materials including wood, metal, plastic, and advanced techniques like MIG welding, brazing, pewter casting, jewellery work, 3D printing, and laser cutting.

Key Requirements:

* Proven practical and technical skills in an educational or workshop setting.

* Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.

* Excellent ICT skills, with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.

* An understanding of Health & Safety regulations related to workshop environments.

Education & Experience:

* Relevant technical qualifications from a recognised institution

* Experience working in a workshop environment either in industry or education

* Ability to work in a team and work with young people

* This position would ideally suit someone who maybe retired from industry and looking to support the department technically
