Mechanical Design Engineer

• Initial 6-12 Month Contract

• Requires DV Clearance

About the Client:Our client is a leader in engineering, design, and project management, delivering innovative solutions across infrastructure, construction, and high-hazard environments. They specialize in ensuring compliance with industry standards while providing cutting-edge mechanical engineering solutions. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team on a contract basis.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver mechanical engineering designs that address defined requirements across the full engineering lifecycle.
• Ensure design intent is maintained throughout the project lifecycle, collaborating with other disciplines to maintain overall integrity.
• Develop mechanical designs in compliance with legislative documentation, engineering standards, and best practices.
• Maintain and promote high personal standards in environmental, safety, health, security, and quality assurance.
• Escalate areas of concern to the relevant Principal Engineer.

Requirements:

• ONC / OND or equivalent in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
• HNC / HND or equivalent in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
• Professional membership at Eng. Tech level within an engineering institution is desirable.
• Proven experience in producing mechanical designs within a multi-discipline design team.
• Competency in standard office software and engineering tools/applications.
• Experience in highly regulated environments, preferably nuclear or explosives industries.

Contract Details:

• Start Date: ASAP
• End Date: 6 to 12 months initial contract
• Hourly Rate: £60-£90 per hour
