Science Teacher - Robertsbridge - Permanent

Reed Education is supporting a secondary school seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to join their Science Department from September 2024. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher with energy, determination, and a passion for science education. For the right candidate, there is potential for a leadership role with additional responsibility as Second in Science, accompanied by a Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR) payment. 

Science Teacher Responsibilities

  • Inspire trust and confidence in pupils and colleagues
  • Build team commitment with colleagues and in the classroom engage and motivate pupils
  • Demonstrate analytical thinking to improve the quality of pupils’ learning, contribute to the school improvement/development planning and promote the learning priorities of the school
  • Use the performance management process to advance pupil learning and enhance professional practice in line with the school’s aspirations and priorities
  • Have lead responsibility for a subject or aspect of the school’s work and develop plans that identify clear targets and success criteria for its development and/or maintenance
  • Promote the wider aspirations and values of the school.
  • Effectively managing other adults in the classroom.
  • Encouraging students to investigate the ‘why’ and ‘how’ behind the world and universe around them.
  • Developing students’ curiosity about natural phenomena and their critical thinking skills.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
  • A degree in Science or a related subject.
  • A proven track record of delivering high-quality science education.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
