Small Works Manager required in Essex and Suffolk

GVR Solutions are currently assisting a specialist contractor, based in Essex, who are in the market for a Small Work Manager to join their team. This is due to an increased workload and natural company progression.

As a company the specialise in adapting the homes of people with disabilities to ensure they are easily accessible and safe. They carry out a wide variety of adaptations from large projects (often full house conversions) to small adaptations (often bathroom adaptations) and everything in between. The delivery of projects is carried out via a combination of directly employed labour and managed sub-contractors.

Responsibilities of the Small Works Manager is to:

* define and agree the precise extent and specification of works to be undertaken.

* create a construction program to deliver the agreed works.

* agree the price of the adaptation works with the Case Manager.

* procure the delivery of the adaptation works with both outside trades and internal staff as appropriate, and to set a cost budget.

* manage the delivery of the adaptation, both in terms of time and cost.

* maintain communication with the JFG management team and the various stakeholders until completion.

* manage the handover of the adaption to the injured/affected client.

Requirements for the Small works Manager:

* Demonstrable experience of delivering complex construction projects on time and to cost.

* Worked for a SME construction company.

* Advanced use of Microsoft suite

* Multidisciplined in terms of construction trades (plumbing, building, carpentry, electrics).

* Natural Problem solver.

* Good network of construction trades.

* Has a real interest / affinity with the home adaptation business.

* Clean driving licence and clear DBS

* Great referees!
