Warehouse Supervisor | Up to £36,000 per year | Harlow | Full-time | Permanent

Join a leading multinational producer and distributor of rice and grains, originating from India, as a Warehouse Shift Supervisor. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee the smooth operations of our warehouse in Harlow, ensuring safety, efficiency, and team productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

* Supervise Warehouse Operations: Oversee all day-to-day warehouse activities, ensuring optimal workflow and productivity.

* Shift Scheduling: Set shift schedules and daily assignments for the warehouse team to meet operational needs.

* Warehouse Management Systems (WMS): Utilize WMS to manage and track warehouse activities efficiently.

* Team Training: Organize and lead warehouse training sessions in collaboration with the Warehouse Manager, Health & Safety, and Quality Manager.

* Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards, maintaining a safe work environment.

* Equipment Monitoring: Regularly monitor the condition of warehouse equipment, racking, and facilities, reporting any damages and coordinating with vendors and the Warehouse Manager for repairs or maintenance.

* Incident Reporting: Report near-misses, accidents, and damages to equipment or infrastructure to the Warehouse Manager and HSQE Manager, following company procedures.

* Health & Safety Regulations: Analyze and implement health, safety, and environmental regulations in conjunction with the Warehouse Manager and HSQE Manager.

* Promote Positive Work Environment: Foster a proactive and healthy working environment, motivating and supporting the warehouse team.

* Administrative Tasks: Perform administrative duties related to warehouse operations as assigned by the Warehouse Manager.

* Process Improvement: Advise on and implement improvements to warehouse procedures and processes.

* Supervise Packaging and Shipping: Oversee packaging, receiving, and shipping activities, ensuring accurate and efficient handling of goods.

* Operational Support: Assist with receiving, shipping, picking, loading, and unloading tasks as needed to support the team.

* Inventory Tracking: Monitor inbound and outbound shipments, track internal stock movements, and perform cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory levels.

* Stock Adjustments: Adjust stock levels in SAP (following training), ensuring accurate data management.

* Supplies Management: Order necessary warehouse supplies and equipment in collaboration with the Warehouse Manager.

* Collaboration: Work closely with the warehouse front office, production team, quality department, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.

* Issue Escalation: Escalate issues to the appropriate managers and recommend potential solutions for any operational challenges.

* Policy Compliance: Ensure the warehouse team follows company policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

* Hygiene and Cleanliness: Maintain and enforce high standards of hygiene, waste management, and cleanliness in the warehouse and surrounding areas.

* Backup Responsibilities: Serve as backup for other supervisors during shift transfers, holidays, sick leave, or other absences.

Qualifications & Skills:

* Experience in warehouse operations and team supervision.

* Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and SAP (or willingness to learn).

* Strong understanding of health and safety regulations, including OSHA.

* Excellent communication and leadership skills.

* Ability to manage and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

* Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean, safe working environment.

* Experience with stock control and inventory management is a plus
