Key Recruitment are working in partnership with aleading Aerospace company in the Derby Area, they are looking for a manufacturing quality engineer to join their team and provide a positive contribution to their methods and facility

This engineer is responsible for technical conformity of all products, providing technical documentation, introducing new capabilities while maintaining and developing Methods of Manufacture.

* Great working knowledge of creation and management of FAIR software.

* Good working knowledge of Document control to include ECR, NDA, DAR, Concession, Data Card, SOP, and quotation processes. Input of BOM's, Routing's, Rework Planning / Changes.

Role & Responsibilities

* Take responsibility for creation and management of new FAIRs and Delta FAIRs. Have great working knowledge of AS9102 and be able to deliver structured instructions to the shopfloor. This will include drawing balloon generation, inspection records and submission of data to customer portals.

* Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors.

* Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.

* Assures product and process quality by monitoring process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.

* Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labour, and material costs.

* Maintain product and company reputation by complying with governing regulations.

* Identify new technologies to improve current processes and implements to completion.

* Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

* Comply with all relevant internal rules, policy and procedures, including those related to Health and Safety, Data Protection and issued Employee Handbook.

Knowledge & Experience

* Must have experience of FAIR Software (Q-Pulse / Ideagen)

* Experience of forming processes

* Project management skills

* CAD experience using any software

* Worked in a manufacturing environment, ideally with Sheetmetal and machining assemblies. Welding knowledge would be advantageous.

* Strong attention to detail

* Ability to work without supervision

* Excellent time management skills

* Exceptional communication and customer service skills

* Strong organisational skills, with ability to multitask

* Good knowledge of PFMEA's, DCM's, Control plans, inspection plans, etc.

Hours of work

Monday to Friday

7am-4pm Monday to Thursday, 7am-12pm Friday

or

8am-5pm Monday to Thursday, 8am-1pm Friday

Salary

£35,000 - £40,000 depending on experience
