the role can be worked remotely with a minimum of 1 day in the office per week.

Key Responsibilities:

✔ Manage and oversee waste contracts, including a £30m Integrated Waste Management contract and £14m West of England contracts.
✔ Act as the main contact between the council and Bristol Waste Company, resolving contract issues and improving service delivery.
✔ Ensure compliance with waste regulations, health & safety standards, and environmental laws.
✔ Monitor contract performance, develop performance management systems, and work with contractors to improve services.
✔ Support waste strategy projects, including new recycling and waste reduction initiatives.
✔ Work with internal and external stakeholders, including local authorities, DEFRA, and community groups.
✔ Manage budgets and financial planning related to waste services.

Ideal Candidate:

🔹 Experience in contract management, waste management, or environmental services.
🔹 Strong stakeholder management & negotiation skills.
🔹 Knowledge of waste regulations, health & safety, and compliance.
🔹 Project management experience in waste, recycling, or sustainability initiatives.
🔹 Strong data analysis skills to interpret waste statistics and improve services.
