We are recruiting for an Electrical Project Engineer to join our well established client.

Job Purpose:

The Electrical Project Engineer will be responsible for managing Electrical & C&I aspects of all projects assigned by the Project Manager. In executing a project, the Electrical Project engineer would also be expected to act as Electrical Supervisor. Depending on the size and number of projects being managed, additional external resources may require management to ensure all the responsibilities shown are carried out correctly. Electrical Project Engineer will allocate or coordinate appropriate resources to deliver excellence on plant projects, whilst meeting Safety, Health, Environmental, production, quality and financial requirements.

Working Hours:

8am - 4:30pm.

Some additional hours, and unsocialable hours are required depending on projects.

Salary:

Salary is dependant on knowledge, experience and skills so can be discussed.

Main Duties:

* Ensure all construction is carried out safely and in-line with current regulations and standards

* Conduct regular site audits to ensure compliance

* Plan and control the Projects throughout their lifecycle.

* Ensure the project(s) are on schedule, on budget and to the correct quality.

* Track budget expenditure using SAP & Excel.

* SAP Project & Procurement knowledge.

* Create status reports.

* Present to key stakeholders as required

* Implement & supervise large engineering Projects, achieving expected results and ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental standards and legislation.

* Produce electrical design specifications, schedules and drawings to facilitate the successful implementation of projects - Experience of Using AutoCAD package preferable.

* Evaluate Electrical Contractors tenders for project work to ensure that the best technical and cost effective solutions are implemented.

* Produce O&M Manuals and electrical connection U&L drawings to site standards for inclusion in the works technical library.

* Support the generation of a Capital 5-year plan by scoping of future Project work and analysis of current equipment operation & improvement opportunities.

* Liaise with Maintenance & Production teams to verify Project designs & handover commissioned equipment into production.

* Liase with specialized Project consultants & engineers, representing the clients best interests.

* Ensure the engineering of the Project(s) is in-line with the expectations of the key stakeholders

* Proactively identify issues and their solutions during the detailed design phase.

* Trouble shoot issues identified during the construction phase.

* Monitor quality during construction to ensure the end result is delivered as designed and fit for purpose.

* Coordinate the manufacture of Control Panels and other electrical equipment associated with the project to ensure compliance with the technical requirements.

* Attend Factory Acceptance Tests to sign off equipment prior to delivery to site.

* Lead construction phase as required for each project/discipline.

* Co-ordinate equipment commissioning activities with contractors and internal Cemex workforce.

* Provide training and technical support to the Production and Maintenance Teams when handing over new projects.

Produce scope of works for the project work required for Procurement to include in their tender process.

Provide technical analysis and recommendation of preferred suppliers as part of the procurement. process to enable the maximum value from any project to be realized.

Raise Purchase requisitions and follow through to order placement & goods receipt.

* Monitor the Capital budget for projects under own control or assist project leader for electrical disciplined activities, monitor on-going compliance and provide forecasts, identifying deviations and taking corresponding corrective actions to ensure financial performance is monitored and controlled in order to meet business objectives.

Qualifications required:

Technical studies - Electrical biased

Bachelor (degree) in Engineering

NEBOSH or IOSH qualification in construction safety management or equivelant.

Experience:

5 years in management of construction and maintenance activities

2 years experience of construction design and management regulations

1 year financial awareness ideally with experience of costing, reporting and analysis

1 year effective influencing and persuassion skills with the ability to deal with people at all levels, including senior management

1 year experience of successful delivery of complex and diverse projects to timescale and budget
