This is an exciting opportunity for a HR Advisor to advise managers and staff to help them understand and implement people policies and procedures. A primary focus of the role will be to advise and support managers in all aspects of employee relations, including managing poor performance, grievances and absence management.

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency enhance and improve the health of millions of people every day through the effective regulation of medicines and medical devices, underpinned by science and research.

The agency is made up of c.1350 staff working across two main sites and peripatetically across the UK and abroad.

The agency consists of Corporate, Partnerships, Delivery, governance, Communication & Engagement, Scientific Research & Innovation, Healthcare Quality & Access, Safety & Surveillance and Digital & Technology Groups.

Description

The HR Advisor will work closely with the HR Business Partner in areas such as performance management, workforce planning/design, change management and equality and diversity.

The HR Advisor responsibilities will include:

  • Providing advice, coaching, support and guidance to managers and staff on HR policies and procedure, employee relations, staff retention, pay & benefits, performance management and attendance management.
  • Proactively managing an ER case portfolio for designated business areas, providing advice and guidance to managers and staff in accordance with Agency policies and procedures, working with Trade Union representatives where involved.
  • Working with designated business areas in the achievement of their "people plans", for example annual performance reviews, sickness absence metrics.
  • Analysing and interpreting a wide range of HR metrics and reports to inform and influence Group plans and actions.
  • Supporting HR Business Partner on change management programmes within designated business areas, including deployment processes, redundancy calculations, job evaluations and TUPE, etc.

Profile

The successful HR Advisor will have previous exposure working in a similar position where you have assisted in the process of ER cases, performance review, analysing data and workforce planning.

You will need to have an understanding of Employment Law, particularly in those areas related to employee relations issues, and have previously advised managers and staff on people policies and procedures.

Ideally you will be studying (or qualified) in CIPD or another HR qualification or have equivalent training and experience.
