Job Summary

Job Title: Senior / Principal C&I Engineer

Location: Head Office, Hemel Hempstead (Hybrid)
Reports to: Project Manager

About Us: BPA is at the forefront of managing downstream energy assets, including pipelines, storage, and distribution terminals. With a dynamic team of 50 engineers, we deliver first-class technical support and project consultancy in the downstream energy sector.

Role Overview: As a Senior Engineer, you'll spearhead projects from concept to completion, ensuring safety, integrity, and enhancement of our assets. You'll manage everything from desktop studies to full-scale EPC projects, often leading small project teams and handling multiple projects simultaneously.

Main Purpose: Execute and coordinate engineering projects for onshore fuel pipelines and facilities.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Communication: Maintain direct contact with clients and key stakeholders. Coordinate with engineers, CAD operators, field engineers, contractors, and suppliers. Report and discuss project issues with the Project Manager.
  • Planning & Project Management: Control projects from approval to commissioning and handover. Manage portfolios up to £3M annually. Ensure man-hour and cost targets are met. Prepare project plans and adhere to BPA and HSSEQ standards.
  • Design: Identify and manage design risks. Provide engineering designs per relevant standards. Develop construction drawings and conduct design reviews.
  • Procurement: Prepare contract documentation and evaluate tenders. Authorise invoices and monitor project spend.
  • Construction/Commissioning: Manage onsite construction contracts. Liaise with staff to meet health and safety targets. Assist in commissioning plans.
  • General: Maintain client relationships, adapt to changing priorities, uphold quality standards, and develop scopes of work and budgets.

What We Need:
  • Member or chartered with a relevant professional institution (e.g., IET).
  • Minimum five years' experience in the oil and gas or associated industries.
  • Proficiency in design and project engineering for oil and gas facilities.
  • Computer literacy in office and specialist software applications.
  • Valid UK driving license.
