Leader Education are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to work at a small Primary School based in North Tyneside. The ideal Learning Support Assistant will have relevant qualifications as well as experience inworking with children on a 1:1 basis. The school caters for young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties in Key Stage 1 and 2, the students at this provision may also have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30am until 4pm and is a long-term position.
The successful candidate will have:
- A Child & Adult Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or the willingness to obtain one.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- An understanding of SEMH and the ability to support students with emotional and behavioural challenges.
- Patience and empathy in dealing with students facing emotional and behavioural challenges.
- Flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of students and the school environment.
- The ability to implement and support the development of positive behaviour.
- Knowledge of relevant educational policies, procedures, and safeguarding practices.
