This is unique opportunity to work for one of the worlds largest media and publishing brands, overseeing a global team of data engineers. You will be working closely with data and product teams to deliver on key data projects and features and ensure that the function is operating optimally.

• The perfect position for a Senior Data Engineer or Data Engineering lead to step up into senior leadership role
• Oversee a large team of highly skilled Data Engineers globally
• Work with some of the biggest brands in media & publishing space
• Opportunity to work remotely with occasional travel to London office (1-2 times per month)

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and lead the day-to-day operations of the Data Engineering team.
• Manage the UK engineering team with direct line management responsibilities.
• Provide technical mentorship, career coaching, and personal development opportunities to Data Engineers and Senior Data Engineers.
• Collaborate with data product managers to define the scope, requirements, and deliverables for data engineering projects.
• Conduct code and architectural reviews, offering guidance on aligning with data engineering best practices.
• Support the team with development and implementation of data engineering solutions when needed.
• Contribute to the evolution of the data platform, participate in architectural decisions, and drive the implementation of the technical aspects of the data strategy.

What You'll Bring:

• Extensive Data Engineering background with proven leadership experience.
• Deep expertise in GCP and/or AWS - both would be ideal
• Demonstrated ability to build, design, and maintain cloud-based data infrastructure.
• Expertise with data warehouses, data pipelines, and maintaining best practices with technical creation.
• Experience in the media industry is a bonus
