Exciting New Opportunity: Assistant Support Manager
Are you ready to take the next step in your career and make a meaningful impact on the lives of children? We're excited to announce a newly created hybrid role: Assistant Support Manager. This unique position offers the opportunity to lead, inspire, and support teams across two of our multi-building children's homes, ensuring exceptional care and consistency for children affected by trauma.

About the Role

As a key member of the team, you'll split your responsibilities between strategic leadership and hands-on care. Reporting to the Registered Service Manager, you'll oversee daily operations, mentor staff, and drive high standards of child-centred care. This dynamic role includes:

  • Leading and supervising a team of 12 staff.
  • Supporting care delivery during shifts, including sleeps and on-call duties.
  • Managing compliance with statutory regulations and organisational policies.
  • Engaging directly with children to foster trust and emotional wellbeing.
  • Facilitating a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment for children.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a compassionate, resilient leader with:

  • A Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People's Workforce (or equivalent).
  • Supervisory experience in children's residential care (minimum 12 months).
  • Strong knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and trauma-informed practices.
  • A full UK driving licence and flexibility to provide on-call support.

Support is available to achieve the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care.

Why Apply?

This is your chance to shape a role that combines leadership, care, and collaboration, making a genuine difference in the lives of children and their families.

All roles will be subject to a successful disclosure at an appropriate level from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), Access NI or Disclosure Scotland as we follow safer recruitment processes.  Proof of identity will also be required. We are an equal opportunities employer.
