The Company
Our client is a successful mid-sized main contractor that has consistently performed and produced profit for over 50 years. The operate in the private and public sector, covering new build and refurbishment contracts, undertaking project in the Education, Health, Industrial, leisure and retail markets. Working on buildings varying from hospitals, educational buildings, churches to leisure facilities and prime private residences, and their enviable track record is based on expertise, experience and responsive environment.
Repeat business is important to the company, as well as successfully tendering. They work throughout the Home Counties from their Oxfordshire HQ. Recent projects include a local emergency services hub, private leisure facility and private school build.
Bid Manager / Bid Coordinator:
Roles
* Lead, manage and contribute significantly to tender submissions, PQQ's and EOI's.
* Working closely with the allocated tender team to prepare, coordinate, respond and submit compelling tender proposals
* Form productive relationships with key managers within each business unit effectively gathering data to support the production of high quality, substantiated PQQ/tender/bid answers, including capturing examples of local best practice, initiatives, successes and the like
* Undertake a detailed review of the EOI, PQQ, tender and bid documents, with particular reference to the bid requirements and scoring criteria and formulate a bid strategy.
* Write compelling answers to bid questions to the highest standard, with reference to the scoring criteria contained within the bid documentation
* Creatively prepare visually compelling proposals
* Creatively design PQQ / tender submission documents with the support of the wider tender team.
* Combine use of software, graphics and photos to enhance the delivery of the tender proposals.
* Collaboratively work with the tender team to ensure all key elements of the bid are incorporated into the submissions.
Experience
* Demonstrable experience of successfully bidding and participating within regional and/or national frameworks
* Working in varying sectors within construction, but must include education, healthcare and defence
* Framework delivery methods and requirements, and forms of contract, including design and build, two stage negotiated projects.
* Familiar with public methods of procurement
* Have competence in IT skills, especially Microsoft products Word, Publisher, PowerPoint & Excel
* Competency / experience in using Adobe InDesign
* Ability to prepare submissions for projects up to £30m
Preferable Experience
* Technical construction knowledge and understanding
* Confident in preparing considered logistic plans and construction methodology
* Ability to use SketchUp to prepare 3D logistical layouts and convey methodology of construction.
* Asta PowerPoint experience and ability to programme simpler projects.
Benifits
