Our client, a leading company in the defence and security sector, is currently seeking a Principal/Senior Hardware Engineer to join their team on a contract basis in Rochester. This is a critical role involving the design, development and delivery of hardware solutions for cutting-edge defence projects. The position is initially for a 12-month period.

Key Responsibilities:

Designing, developing, and testing hardware components for defence systems
Collaborating with software and systems engineering teams to ensure integrated solutions
Providing technical expertise throughout the hardware development lifecycle
Conducting detailed analysis, simulation, and verification of hardware designs
Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations
Preparing technical documentation and reports
Supporting hardware integration and troubleshooting activities

Job Requirements:

Significant experience in hardware engineering within the defence sector
Strong knowledge of hardware design principles and methodologies
Proficiency in using hardware development tools and software
Experience with hardware testing and validation procedures
Understanding of industry standards and regulatory requirements in defence
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Relevant degree in electronic engineering or a related discipline
