Are you a confident and adaptable individual with a passion for education? We are looking for a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join our vibrant and supportive team at a dynamic primary school in Southampton. In this key role, you will manage the classroom and ensure the smooth delivery of lessons in the absence of the class teacher, helping students to stay on track with their learning.

Key Responsibilities 

Supervise and manage classrooms across KS1 and KS2 in the absence of the class teacher 
Ensure the students remain on task and follow the lesson plans provided 
Maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment and support student engagement 
Assist with classroom behaviour management and help foster a respectful, productive atmosphere 
Provide support for students' individual learning needs, ensuring all students can access the curriculum 
Assist with administrative tasks, such as marking and feedback when required 
Be a positive role model and contribute to the overall development of students both academically and socially 

Requirements 

Experience working with children in a school or educational setting 
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage with students of all ages 
Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to changing circumstances and lesson plans 
Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving 
Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team 

Desirable 

Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar role 
First aid qualification or willingness to undertake training
