It's an exciting time to join us!

Here at Southern Water, we do much more than you probably think and offer a huge variety or roles, professions and career paths. Our key teams and departments include Customer Services, Water and Wastewater Operations, Engineering and Construction and Health and Safety. Plus, we have our corporate support teams including IT, HR and Finance. So, whoever you are and whatever your background we've a meaningful career right here, ready for you to dive into.

We are looking for someone who will undertake site audits to ensure compliance with Operator round expectations, area standard, site cleanliness and performance. As such you will demonstrate a strong technical and operational background, with clear drive for continuous improvement. When the field performance manager is absent you will manage the support functions, as well as health and safety for Southern Waters sites in the Medway area. You will use your strong communication skills to engage with contractors and ensure that we remain compliant with governing bodies. An important element of your role will be managing spot audits by the regulatory agency and liaise effectively with them and associated governing bodies. You will travel to various sites and reside close enough for a standby arrangement every 9 weeks

You will be responsible for the effective running of the team in the absence of the FPM as they will deputise for leave and delegated requirements, meeting performance continuity for an operational area and role succession.

This role is varied with an opportunity to work in a wide range of diverse activities across a number of sites with a wide range of contractors and Southern Water staff. To be considered for this role you will need to have experience in the utilities section, ideally water.

Does this opportunity excite you but you're not 100% sure if you meet all the requirements for the role? Or are you concerned that 'normal' office hours aren't possible given your personal circumstances? Whilst we can't accommodate every flexible working request, we'll try to find a practical solution. So why not engage with us and find out more about this role?

Our customers are at the heart of everything we do, because delivering water for life is our core purpose. To achieve this, we need 24/7 support in place to resolve incidents quickly and efficiently. All our employees understand the importance of out-of-hours incident support - because when problems appear, fixing them is our top priority. That's why our people join together and support when and however needed to make sure our customers get the service they deserve. Joining the Southern Water family means you'll become part of our incident support team. During your interview, your manager will speak to you about any incident support rotas that apply to your position.
