Your expertise will play a crucial role in managing the firm's financial transactions, ensuring compliance with legal regulations, and providing valuable insights to support the firm's strategic decisions.

As a Legal Accountant, you will oversee key financial activities, including managing accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. A significant aspect of the role will involve ensuring compliance with Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Accounts Rules, managing audits, and working closely with partners and external auditors to ensure smooth operations. You'll also assist with tax planning and filing, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of financial regulations and industry best practices, and helping to shape the firm's financial strategy.

This part-time role offers exceptional flexibility. Whether you prefer working across five days or a condensed 2.5-day schedule, you'll have the freedom to choose hours that suit you, alongside the opportunity for hybrid working. There's also flexibility around school hours and holidays, making it the ideal position for someone seeking a good work-life balance. The firm operates in a newly refurbished, modern office in central Newcastle, easily accessible by metro, with a relaxed, collaborative work culture that encourages both independence and teamwork.

With a salary of up to £52k pro-rata, private healthcare, and long-term growth opportunities, this is more than just a job. You'll be part of a supportive finance team in a firm that genuinely values work-life balance. If you have experience in the legal sector, excellent attention to detail, and a strong commitment to compliance, this role offers the perfect balance of flexibility, challenge, and career progression.
