About The Contractor:

Reddbrick are recruiting for a leading Regional Main Contractor with a proven track record of successfully delivering construction projects across the West Midlands. Currently, they are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team and manage projects in Derby and the East Midlands

Senior Quantity Surveyor Role:

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be a key member of the project team, responsible for managing the commercial and contractual activities on the assigned sections of the project. Your expertise will play a crucial role in ensuring the project's financial success and delivering it to the highest standards of quality, within budget and on schedule.

Senior Quantity Surveyor Responsibilities:

* Conducting comprehensive cost estimation and preparing accurate cost plans

* Leading the subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and agreement of terms

* Monitoring project costs and variations, providing proactive cost advice and control measures

* Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and risk management

* Collaborating with the project team to address commercial issues and find cost-effective solutions

* Managing the Preparation and submital of monthly reports on project financial performance

* Conducting cost and value reconciliations, as well as interim and final account agreements

* Management/mentoring of a team of Quantity Surveyors

* The role will involve general Quantity Surveyor duties but will not be limited to these duties alone.

Senior Quantity Surveyor Requirements:

* Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field

* A stong understanding of forms of construction contracts including JCT, NEC and D&B.

* Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills

* A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving

* Experience of Student accomodation, Retirement Living and Residential schemes.

* Commercial management experience of projects in excess of £15m
