We are looking for suitable cover supervisors to join our team and provide day-to-day, short-term, and long-term cover to maintain continuity in primary schools in the area.

As a Primary Cover Supervisor, you will supervise primary school students when their regular teacher is absent, ensuring they complete assigned work and maintaining a positive and engaging classroom environment. You will not be required to teach new material but will manage classroom behaviour and provide basic support to students as needed. Your role will involve overseeing various subjects and age groups, working closely with other staff, and handling essential administrative tasks such as taking attendance and reporting incidents.

Working as a supply Primary Cover Supervisor gives you the flexibility to work around your own schedule and take on work as and when you are available. This is a great opportunity to increase your exposure to primary schools across Portsmouth and gain valuable experience in the education sector.

As a cover supervisor, you will be stepping in to cover absent teachers and ensuring continuity in lessons across all subjects. These lessons will be pre-planned, and you will be responsible for following the provided lesson plan effectively. You should have relevant experience working with primary-aged children or hold a degree.

Must have:
• Experience working with primary-aged children

• Confidence in your ability to lead a class of up to 30 students
• Enhanced DBS check
• Strong behaviour management strategies to ensure students are engaged and working in a productive learning environment

Desirable:
• Previous work experience in a primary school setting
