What’s the role?

Head Waiter

About The Ned:

The Ned and Ned’s Club are a global collection of hotels, clubs, spas, and restaurants for like-minded individuals to meet, work and have a good time.

The Ned launched in 2017 in the heart of the City, in the former Midland Bank headquarters. The Ned City of London houses Ned’s Club - a private members’ space, gym and rooftop - alongside a public spa, a whole floor of event spaces, ten restaurants and bars and 250 hotel bedrooms.

As a junior member of the restaurant leadership team, reporting into the floor management team you will:

  • Be a guardian of outstanding hospitality within your team, modelling behaviours, monitoring standards, and providing coaching and feedback where needed
  • On your own section you will be the main point of contact for the member’s entire visit, tailoring your service to deliver the exceptional experiences that The Ned is known for
  • Using your unrivalled knowledge of our menus, you’ll answer all queries and provide recommendations to make sure every guest receives the perfect meal
  • Even when not directly interacting with our guests you will be in full view so you will always be impeccably presented, delivering a slick operation, all with a friendly and open energy
  • Be the last guardian of food and drink quality and presentation, never letting anything lower than Ned standards reach our guests
  • Maintain a safe and clean restaurant environment, protecting our guests and your teammates from any possible harm

What The Ned can give you:

  • Estimated yearly pay of £37,960 - £18.25 per hour including service
  • Complimentary meals in our friendly team restaurant, Neddy’s including monthly payday breakfast
  • Exclusive rates at The Ned for staying and eating for you, your family and friends
  • Wellbeing and health benefits, including Reward Gateway and Wagestream, with access to gym, shopping and cinema discounts
  • Your birthday off, after a year of service and more holiday after five years of service
  • Paid volunteer day
  • Refer a friend scheme of up to £1,000
  • Regular social events, including an annual pool party
  • Employee assistance program – 24/7 advice and support
  • Reward and recognition initiatives

What you can bring to the role:

  • Previous restaurant experience with a proven track record of delivering outstanding service and hospitality is essential
  • Previous experience of supervising or managing a team is beneficial, but experienced waiters feeling ready to take their next step are also encouraged
  • Ideally this role will be a stepping stone into a management career, so a desire to learn and progress is always welcome
  • As the smiling face looking after every guest in our restaurant spaces, you’ll have a bright personality and genuine warmth with a passion for outstanding hospitality
  • Great all-round food and drinks knowledge is an advantage, but we can teach you everything you need to know about our menus
  • Our members expect the best, so patience and a genuine desire to deliver outstanding experiences every time is an absolute must

At The Ned, we don't just celebrate our diversity, we challenge ourselves to do even better. The Ned is committed to being the best place to work, and ensuring that we have a leading diversity, equity and inclusion programme is central to making that vision a reality.
