Telent's Asset Management division are looking for an addition to the Training team. We are looking for a Technical Trainer who is a specialist in Traffic Signals Engineering - this is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on Traffic Signals specialist who is now ready to train and develop other Engineers, and pass on their knowledge with new starters and existing staff on all things Traffic, HERS and NHSS Sector 8 related. This is a flexible working role, which will see you manage your diary and travel across the Chorley office, Warwick office, Camberley office and London (Pirin Court) office from time to time.

The Traffic Technology "Technical Trainer" will be required to plan, administrate, and deliver Engineering specific training and development needs within the Traffic business to ensure compliance to the business specific competency schemes (NHSS8 - National Highways Sector Scheme Chapter 8).

Technical Trainer - What you'll do:

Identify, design and develop training and development programmes and ensure training materials are up to date, relevant and comply with external requirements were necessary (HESA).
Attending HERS/NHSS8 Training and Committee Meetings to represent telent Traffic Technology.
With assistance from ATO Manager, support HESA compliance audits in line with the scheme.
Support the delivery of training to Traffic Technology and other areas of the telent business where appropriate.
Support the delivery of external training courses, in compliance with the requirements of NHSS8. Technical Trainer - Who you are:

We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and a proactive individual who can work independently as well as part of a large geographical team, with the willingness to travel and stay away from home from time to time (if/when required). Experience in Traffic Signals installations or maintenance is crucial as this is the training and curriculum that will be taught and delivered. We are also looking for a good understanding of HERS (Highways Electrical Registration Scheme) and NHSS as well. Full formal training will be given to the right candidate as long as you are committed to personal learning and development.

Technical Trainer - Key requirements:

BTEC Ordinary National Certificate in electronics/telecommunications engineering (or an equivalent qualification) or relevant, proven experience of working on Traffic Signals / working in the Traffic Signals industry or closely related equipment/systems
Training experience and Level 3 Award in Education (desirable, not essential)
PC literate - able to use Microsoft Office including MS Word and MS Excel.
A working understanding and experience of NHSS8 and HERS sector schemes, Highways Electrical Industry, New Roads and Street Works Act and Local Authority Specifications on delivery of highways technology schemes
An understanding and compliance with the relevant quality, environmental, health and safety legislation. Telent - What we offer:
