Role Overview:

As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) at the school, your role is pivotal in ensuring the school meets and exceeds independent school standards. You will be tasked with driving the school's aspiration to achieve characteristics that align with an outstanding rating. Your leadership will ensure that the school provides a safe and nurturing environment for every pupil, while also inspiring confidence and serving as a role model for both staff and students.

Core Responsibilities:

Leadership & Accountability: As a vital part of the SLT, you will be accountable for the school's adherence to independent school standards, ensuring the institution is on a trajectory towards an 'Outstanding' evaluation.

Safeguarding: Guarantee that all safeguarding policies are effectively implemented, ensuring each pupil's safety and well-being are prioritized.

Inspiration & Empowerment: Foster an environment where pupils and staff are inspired, empowered, and confident. Your leadership will be essential in guiding them to achieve their full potential.

Holistic Support: Commit to providing unconditional care, nurture and support to every pupil, ensuring their overall development.

Key Tasks:

Teaching Responsibilities: Deliver and teach at least 25% of the weekly lessons, covering core, non-core, or vocational subjects.

Curriculum Management: Assist in managing a robust curriculum that is ambitious, well-planned, and sequenced. The curriculum should aim to elevate all pupils to achieve age-appropriate reading levels and beyond.

Support Processes: Provide support in the EHCP and PEP processes, ensuring that these frameworks are effectively managed and beneficial for each pupil.

Professional Development: Focus on enhancing teachers' subject and pedagogical knowledge, facilitating better curriculum delivery and the effective use of assessments.

Mentorship: Assist and support trainee tutors, mentoring them throughout their teacher training journey.

Pupil Engagement: Strive to ensure all pupils attend regularly, successfully complete their study programs, and are supported by staff in every possible way.

Nurturing Talent: Equip each pupil with the skills to become confident, resilient, and independent learners. Focus on nurturing and stretching their individual talents and interests.

Cultural Capital: Support pupils in appreciating creativity and achievement, ensuring they are equipped with the cultural capital necessary for success in life.

Behavioral Standards: Maintain high expectations for pupil behavior and ensure staff are supported in managing behavior positively.

Citizenship & Well-being: Provide pupils with meaningful opportunities to learn how to be healthy, respectful, and active citizens, preparing them comprehensively for life beyond school.

Enrichment Experiences: Ensure that all pupils have access to a broad range of enriching experiences, planned coherently and purposefully.

Community & Parental Engagement: Engage effectively with pupils, parents/carers, employers, and local services, fostering a strong community connection.

Staff Support: Engage with staff, being mindful of the pressures they face, including workload, and ensuring their well-being is supported.

Requirements:

Qualified Teacher status (Pre or Post 16)
GCSE English and Maths grade 4 or equivalent
Evidence of leadership skills
Evidence of successful and recent teaching responsibility of English
