Kenny Recruit have partnered with an entertainment and hospitality business to find a Management Accountant on a permanent basis. This business are super forward thinking and one of the most exciting venues in the Nottingham area. The finance team look after multiple entities, they work with high volumes of invoices and transactions and are implementing an automated system to help them move away from manually processing.

The Management Accountant will be one of three Management Accountants reporting into the Financial Controller, you will have one Assistant MA reporting into you will look after two areas of the business, retail and hospitality. To be successful in this position you will need to be qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or studying and would preferably have experience of working within the hospitality or retail sectors, which would mean experience of stock. Good Excel skills are also essential.

Pay: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum (dependent on experience) + benefits + study support

Location: Nottingham

Working hours: 9.00am - 5.30pm (hybrid working offered, 3 days minimum in the office)

Responsibilities:

  • Produce management accounts packs for business areas including commentary on variances.
  • Manage and improve month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate revenue and cost recognition for business areas.
  • Lead the maintenance of budgets and forecasts, coordinating the process across areas of responsibility in collaboration with managers.
  • Manage and optimise inventory accounting and cost analysis processes, including drop-shipping and multi-channel fulfilment considerations.
  • Collaborate with department heads to identify opportunities for cost savings, revenue growth, and operational efficiencies.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators for different business areas, providing insights on trends and anomalies in business performance.
  • Play a key role in the implementation and maintenance of financial systems and controls.
  • Contribute significantly to the development and refinement of financial policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations, staying abreast of changes.
  • Proactively manage and develop direct line reports.
  • Mentor team members and contribute to the overall development of the finance function.
  • Support the Finance Director and Financial Controller in strategic financial planning and forecasting.

Requirements:

  • Have strong analytical skills. Competent in systems/process development as you will focus on continuous system development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a keen eye to detail, you will be able to build and maintain collaborative relationships with both internal and external customers and stakeholders.
