Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Scenic Carpenter to join our dynamic production team. The ideal candidate will have experience working on high-end retail environments, exhibition builds, and bespoke joinery. You will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing custom scenic elements, retail fixtures, and exhibition structures, ensuring the highest level of finish and quality.

Key Responsibilities
• Manufacture and assemble bespoke display units, furniture, and scenic elements using a variety of materials, including wood, MDF, laminates, and acrylics.
• Work from technical drawings and CAD designs to accurately construct high-end displays and structures.
• Operate woodworking machinery and hand tools to cut, shape, and finish materials with precision.
• Ensure high-quality finishing including sanding, laminating, painting, and detailing to meet luxury brand standards.
• Collaborate with designers, project managers, and other workshop staff to achieve design intent and project goals.
• Assist in on-site installations, ensuring all elements are securely assembled and presented to a premium standard.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations, keeping a clean and organized workspace.
• Problem-solve and adapt designs where necessary to accommodate site conditions or client changes.

Key Skills & Experience
• Proven experience as a Scenic Carpenter, Bench Joiner, or Set Builder within retail displays, exhibition stands, or theatrical staging.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and production plans with accuracy.
• Proficiency in using woodworking machinery, hand tools, and finishing techniques.
• Experience working with high-end materials such as veneers, Corian, and laminates.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering exceptional craftsmanship.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to travel for on-site installations when required.

Preferred Qualifications
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry & Joinery (or equivalent).
• Experience in shopfitting, set building, or exhibition carpentry.
• Knowledge of spray finishing, CNC operation, or scenic painting is a plus.
