SHEQ Advisor

Reed are supporting a construction focused business who are looking for a SHEQ Advisor to join their successful team, working on a variety of projects within Ireland, including civils, rail, and windfarm projects. The role involves responsibility for health and safety, environmental, and quality assurance on construction projects.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Regularly review, update, and communicate Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Conduct safety audits, inspections, and investigations; compile reports and ensure consistent compliance.
  • Complete and review Method Statements and risk assessments.
  • Document, investigate all accidents and near misses, and implement recommended improvements.
  • Provide site induction for employees, contractors, and site visitors.
  • Plan and coordinate SHEQ-related training for employees.
  • Maintain and update all relevant SHEQ Department administration.
  • Assist in developing documentation for the SHEQ Management System to be compliant with OHSAS 45001:2018 and ISO 14001/2015 and 9001/2015 standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • NEBOSH OHAS Qualification Certificate, held for at least 2 years.
  • Experience in PSCS functions and managing health and safety matters during the construction stage.
  • Environmental and Quality qualification is advantageous.
  • Understanding of OHSAS 45001 or 18001 and ISO 14001 and 9001.
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a similar Health and Safety role.
  • Knowledge of Rail works and Windfarm works is beneficial but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and team-building skills.
  • Well-developed organisation/planning skills.
  • Good problem-solving skills with a solution-focused approach.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word & Excel.
  • Clean Driving licence for travel to sites.
