Tradewind Recruitment is working with outstanding secondary schools across Birmingham to recruit compassionate and dedicated Pastoral Mentors and Pastoral Support Staff. About the Role:

As a Pastoral Mentor or member of the Pastoral Support Team, you will play a key role in promoting a positive school environment where students feel safe, valued, and supported. You will work closely with students, helping them navigate personal challenges, improve their behavior, and achieve their full potential both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one mentoring to students, offering emotional and social support.
Work with students to improve behavior, attendance, and engagement in school.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure students receive holistic support.
Monitor the well-being and progress of students, maintaining accurate records and reports.
Promote a positive and inclusive school culture, helping to manage any issues that arise.
Assist with developing and implementing strategies for student intervention and support.

Requirements:

Relevant Experience: Previous experience in a pastoral role or working with young people in a mentoring or support capacity is essential.
Strong Interpersonal Skills: The ability to build rapport with students and offer guidance and support in a non-judgmental manner.
DBS Check: A valid DBS check on the update service is required or a willingness to obtain one before starting.
Commitment to Student Welfare: A genuine passion for supporting students' emotional and social development, helping them overcome challenges and achieve their best.
