Site Manager

Job Role

We are looking for an experienced Site Manager to join our team. This is a permanent, full-time position offering good rates of pay working with a market leader. This position is based in London and its surrounding areas.

Your primary role will be to ensure that programmes and deadlines are met while maintaining the high-level Steel Build health and safety culture. Working alongside the Managing Director, you will ensure correct information is supplied and the need for concern address at the earliest of opportunities.

It will be expected that the day-to-day tasks are completed and managed by yourself, whilst ensuring all documentation and procedures are completed and followed, to allow project reviews to be maintained. You will be our health and safety representative. Day to day site management, direction and co-ordination of all site activities carried out by the company and its sub-contractors, with particular focus on health and safety, planning, programming, and co-ordination with the company’s off-site activities

Please note due to location it is essential you can travel.

  • Commercial awareness

  • Previous and proven construction experience
  • Aware of construction processes and health and safety procedures
  • Assist with procurement when there is a requirement
  • Ability to work on all levels with staff, co-workers, and other trades
  • To forecast future works and overlay project programmes to avoid labour clash
  • To drive design and production to ensure site start dates are hit
  • To manage the daily activities of subcontractors/ contractors and employed staff, in respect of Health and Safety, Quality and Programme
  • Attend site progress and/ or start up meetings where necessary
  • Overall management of job completion, ensuring projects are compliant and finished on time
  • Manage snagging/ defects process

Criteria:

  • Relevant qualifications and minimum of: CSCS and SMSTS
  • Excellent management skills
  • Good IT skills
  • Ability to create and drive program
  • Basic understanding of design and production processes
  • Strong multi-tasking abilities
  • Self-organisation skills and to organize others.
  • Priority management
  • Attention to H&S issues and high standards of quality
