The Role

As a CNC Turner Setter/Operator, you will play a crucial role in the Turning Department, ensuring the efficient and precise production of high-quality components. Your responsibilities will include:

* Setting and operating Mazak CNC turning machines to produce precision-engineered parts

* Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications to ensure accurate machining

* Modifying and editing CNC programs to adjust for materials, tooling, or machining conditions

* Programming online and offline, ensuring optimal efficiency and accuracy

* Operating Fanuc controls and making necessary program and tooling adjustments

* Conducting in-process inspections to maintain strict quality standards

* Hand-finishing components (de-burring) and performing final quality checks

* Performing basic machine maintenance, including cleaning, oiling, and coolant management

* Logging work and completing route cards, ensuring accurate documentation

* Working closely with team members and supervisors to meet production deadlines

* Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality

What We're Looking For

We are seeking a CNC Turner Setter/Operator who is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and a strong team player. The ideal candidate will have:

* At least five years' experience in a CNC turning setter/operator role

* Experience working with Mazak CNC machines (essential)

* Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, and Fanuc controls

* The ability to read, interpret, and communicate technical drawings and specifications

* Experience programming both online and offline

* Excellent attention to detail, ensuring work meets the highest quality standards

* The ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy

* Good written and verbal communication skills, with PC fluency for logging work

* A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and process improvement

* Competitive hourly rate of £16.00 - £19.00 per hour, depending on experience
